Citrix Single Sign On is not working because the ssonsvr.exe process is not running

Issue

Single sign on is not working. The ssosvr.exe process is not running.

The Citrix Single Sign On provider is not listed in the Control Panel | Network Connections | Advanced | Advanced Settings | Provider Order tab

Resolution

Logged in as an Administrator:

- Start Prgram Neighbourhood
- Select Tools | ICA Settings
- Uncheck Pass-Through Authentication and click OK
- Select Tools | ICA Settings
- Check Pass-Through Authentication
- Check Use local credentials to logon and click OK

Check the following registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider\HwOrder
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider\Order

The ProviderOrder value should list the PnSson value e.g.

"ProviderOrder"="CdmService,RDPNP,LanmanWorkstation,WebClient,PnSson"

An issue has been seen where this value appears multiple times, or where there is a double comma (e.g. CdmService,RDPNP,LanmanWorkstation,WebClient,,PnSson) that will cause Citrix Single Sign On to fail.

Restart the computer and check that the Citrix Single Sign On provider is listed in the Control Panel | Network Connections | Advanced | Advanced Settings | Provider Order tab, and that the ssonsvr.exe process is running.
