Web Interface reports "An error has occurred while connecting to the requested resource"

Issue

When trying to connect to an application in Web Interface the following error messages may be reported:

"An error has occurred while connecting to the requested resource" (IE)

"The resource you requested is no longer available from the servers or the specified user no longer has access to it." (Firefox)

The application is published on servers that are available and the server load is less that 100%. e.g.

query farm /APP

Resolution

The client has a Zone Preference and Failover policy that specifies the zone that the servers reside in as "Do Not Connect".

Check the "User Workspace | Connections | Zone Preference and Failover" setting in the Citrix policies in Presentation Server Console:

- Right click on <Farm> | Policies and select Search from the context menu
- Select User in Search Criteria and click Edit
- Check Show Users, select the affected user and click OK
- Click Search
- Click No to searching the forest
- Click View Resultant Policy
- Navigate to User Workspace | Connections | Zone Preference and Failover
